i see them every day
children groomed under the tutelage of hardship
all their livesall they've ever known
is a life of want
of inferiority
of pain
i see them every day
in schools with torn clothes
looking shabby
walking all the distance to school
through miles besieged with pain and mockery
i see them on the streets
with a mark of rejection
pasted on their foreheads
they know their plight
having accepted it without a fight
knowing that for them there's no hope in sight
in hate they turn against life
giving back what's been given to them
and they are themed depraved
but see how much they were deprived
their very lives being stolen
they have been raped by society
lost their pride and humanity
i see them every day
the very ones the future of our nation
relegated to pain and shame
disdainfully conditioned for depravity
i see them every day
starting all over again
raising their young in this same mud
who cares
we hide our face and deny they even exist
yet i see them
yes i see them every day
