Don't, little one, don't... .
Little one, look thou not down on things little;
Each dot of it hath its worth and each stroke its use.
These awful contours and ugly spots serve
As landmarks to guide thee when thou lose
Thy way, these poor houses will hide thee
From the rain, this little cat could guide thee.

Don't kill that that bird little, let it fly away;
It's going to feed thee when home's faraway.
Don't despise fools, don't hate them at all;
They may be thy only friends when there be a fall.
Don't kill an idiot for ideas he doth not have;
If you do, who's going to make you laugh?
