I know in my heart what it means.

When I read how my Savior was nailed to the cross,
For the sins of the world to atone,
Oh, I feel so unworthy such suffering and loss,
For I know in my heart what it means.

I know in my heart what it means,
Salvation, that word so divine;
His Spirit has witnessed to mine,
And I know in my heart what it means.

When the gospel is preached in the name of the Lord
By the Spirit sent down from above,
My soul thrills with joy at the sound of his word,
For I know in my heart what it means.

I know in my heart what it means,
Salvation, that word so divine;
His Spirit has witnessed to mine,
And I know in my heart what it means.

When the sweet songs of Zion are floating above,
And the saints all rejoice in the Lord,
I am happy in Jesus and lost in his love,
For I know in my heart what it means.

I know in my heart what it means,
Salvation, that word so divine;
His Spirit has witnessed to mine,
And I know in my heart what it means.

And when others proclaim that salvation is free,
When they tell of the soul-cleansing blood,
I, too, can rejoice, for he’s sanctified me,
And I know in my heart what it means.

I know in my heart what it means,
Salvation, that word so divine;
His Spirit has witnessed to mine,
And I know in my heart what it means.

I know what lies ahead

It’s not the first mile that’s so important-selected

It’s not the first mile that you’ll be judged by
For you may stumble along the way
But you’ll grow stronger in faith and courage
If Jesus walks with you from day to day

It’s not the first mile that’s so important
It’s the last mile when day is dawn
Then you’ll see Jesus in all His grandeur
And He will have for you the crown you’ve won

Upon this journey from Earth to Heaven
You’ll have to watch for the Satan’s snare
Just keep on praying to your Redeemer
He will protect you with His loving care

There may be times when you have a burden
That grows too heavy along the road
If you will let Him the Blessed Savior
Will be so glad to bear your heavy load
